URUGUAY V FRANCE MASTERCLASS
Discover the wines of Uruguay - paired against wines from France.
A comparative tasting comparing Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Tannat, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from both countries.
Uruguay is the second smallest South American country - but the fourth largest producer of wines in South America. Sitting between two large noisy neighbours Argentina and Brazil, Uruguay has a vibrant wine culture which has been quietly improving over the last two decades offering very different wine styles to its neighbours.
As a small country Uruguay does not have much climate variability, but it does have a fascinating range of soils which are now being explored by the new generation of Uruguay winemakers.
Tannat is the country's best known grape, but there are also a vast array of other varieties originally planted by different immigrant families.
A fun tasting for those who love South America - and those interested to see the progress being made in this little-known wine country.
A selection of artisan cheeses will also be served during the evening.
