Five year old Rioja Reserva at a bargain price.

Made by winemaker Roberto Rodriguez from the Bodegas Cosme Palacio stable - this has delicious cherry fruits, spicy leathery notes, rich creamy complex palate and fine tannins.  From grapes grown in higher altitude Rioja Alavesa, matured for 36 months with at least one year in French oak - with a little American oak used too - 'to continue the Rioja tradition' (according to Rodriguez).

It is hard to find such a decent mature Rioja Reserva at this price.
