Such a luscious attractive example of Pinot Gris from Alsace in eastern France - made by one of the top domaines in the region, Zind Humbrecht.
Olivier Zind Humbrecht MW (the first Frenchman to pass the Master of Wine) is such a talented viticulturist and winemaker. The grapes for this Pinot Gris are grown on chalky soils of the domaine's 5.5 hectare Clos Windsbuhl, a south/southeast facing vineyard site in Hunawihr - where Zind Humbrecht are the sole owners.
Taste: Honeysuckle and musky perfumes on the nose, citric fruits, slightly off-dry, lovely finesse and complexity with that charactieristic smokiness on the finish from the terroir. 2018 was a warm vintage, so expect moderate acidity and a rich ripe lush fruit style.
